Safety is of paramount concern at the Hazelhut. The grounds, while extensive, are completely fenced in so students can enjoy the freedom of open space without fear of straying off.
Sports activities are monitored by trained first aiders. The swimming pool is permanently supervised by a life guard accredited by the Italian Società Nazionale di Salvamento.
The Hazelhut is very close to the town of Ronciglione where there is a state hospital with an accident and emergency room.
