Day 4

Our first activity today was making key rings to remember our time at the Hazelhut - aren't they beautiful?!

Then we followed some cryptic clues all over the garden until we found the treasure in the pizza oven: some sweets, a pack of cards and a torch each: Great loot!

Today we played lots of games from jump rope to soccer and not for getting the eggcellent potted sports!

We also finished making the Elderflower cordial from yesterday - it was so delicious with ice and fizzy water after all the sports!

This evening was pizza night. We made our dough in the morning and then let it rise ready for the evening. Just like the kids here, the dough was super bubbly! Each of the children chose their own topping, but margherita was by far the favourite.

I can't believe it's over so soon. This was our last night but everyone wants the fun to last forever!

Day 3

Good morning! We started our day with picking up three eggs from the chickens.

After that some of us put decent shoes on to go in the city. We did some shopping and after that we went in a restaurant to make a lasagna. Unfortunately we made it too yummy! So we ate it all up. Some kids went crazy for the potatoes as well. Then we said ‘Thank you’ to the lady that works there.

We had free time and then went to pick Elderflowers because we were going to make a spooky lemonade drink with them.

Afterwards we had more free time, but only outdoors, so some of us played with the Frisbee and others played tennis. In the evening we prepared the campfire and most of us were really hungry by the time we ate our hamburgers. We also had chocolate bananas!!!! Then we had spooky stories and some children were really scared, so we went away. Then we watched the Pink Panther and now it is bedtime!

Day 2

For our first activity we played ‘head or catch’ and then frisbee. Next we made

T-shirts.

For lunch we had to have an indoor picnic because it was raining.

We stole vegetables from the other person’s garden.

Then the lord of all kings, the best person ever from Saturn called Julian came.

When the lord of all kings the best person ever from Saturn called Julian came, we started playing egg wars. =) We all arrived at stage 2+1+0.

And then the lord of all kings the best person ever from Saturn called Julian won 2nd place at Connect 4.

We all played a General Knowledge Quiz and the lord of all kings the best person ever from Saturn called Julian and Simon won! The last few questions were very, very difficult! We all learned that the important thing is having fun and we have had tons of fun! Check out the dinner picture when we covered ourselves in googly eyes!

We also got to collect the eggs and we got the biggest one of the week! We had chicken for dinner and ice cream for dessert.

Day 1 of the Easter Camp

Hello I am Emily and I will be telling you about half of our day. The other half will be told by Jasmine. Today we arrived at Hazelhut and ate pizza, strawberries and salad for lunch. Then we went over the rules and chores, after that we played Perudo (picture below) it is a game with dice where you can lie or tell the truth. If you disagree with what the person before you says, you say dudo.

Later on we made signs for our room doors there is the girls room and the boys room.

The second part of the day started with our snack. It was really yummy! While we had snack we told jokes to each other in front of the fire.

After snack we had free time and we played all together.

After we had a hot dog and strawberries for dinner then we saw a film that I brought in.

The Open Day

It was fantastic to see so many friends, families and new acquaintances at the Hazelhut for our second ever Open Day. The sun shone and the Hazelhut was resplendent amidst the visitors. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come from near and far to learn more about our holiday camps, philosophy and premises. A special thank you to Gianluca, Tania and the Hazelhut's favourite horse, Caterina, and also to the Usborne book team, Liné and John, who not only hosted a fantastic book fair, but also could not have been more helpful in the kitchen, taking extra photos and entertaining the guests!
