After a wet and very windy night, the Hazelhutters woke up to sunshine! It was much colder but we still enjoyed time outside, planting strawberries, collecting eggs, doing a treasure hunt, cutting bamboo and playing in the tree house.
We also spent time enjoying the cosy indoors, making pompoms, playing cards, making name magnets, singing and playing instruments......
..............and of course enjoying a tasty lunch!
This week, BOTH boys and girls won the clean room competition - well done kids and thanks for coming, hope to see you all soon!
Today the boys arrived first as the girls had to go to school, so we were a small group this morning. The first activity was to make pom poms and use them however the children chose - they were all very different and very creative!
After lunch the boys were very good at getting on with their homework.
It wasn't long before the girls turned up to swell the numbers and we started our first activity together decorating wooden boxes - aren't they beautiful?
Later in the afternoon we played the chocolate game.....
Some kids were very lucky..... and others were not!
The girls made meringues in the kitchen with Ottavia while the boys played in the games room with James.
We discovered that eggs are not easy to separate and that meringues are very sticky!
But most of us thought they tasted delicious! Meanwhile downstairs.....
As usual the pizza dinner in a warm kitchen was a big success. Now everyone is enjoying a film and hoping that tomorrow the sun will shine!
