We loved having the children from Marymount EC1 to the Hazelhut last Thursday. The sun shone as they learned all about the 5 senses. They really enjoyed the bare-foot walk we had prepared and also listening to nature in the vegetable garden and woodlands. We found some herbs to smell and some children took a risk by tasting them on freshly made bruschetta! After lunch the children made some artwork using their visual sense and at the end of the day we all sang a song about the 5 senses!

Thank you to the reception class from St. Thomas's School who joined us today for a school trip all about journeys through music. Having listened to the professional musician, Matheus express his background through music, the students felt inspired to pick up instruments and express themselves too. We all went on a journey around the Hazelhut together and then in smaller groups came up with sounds to match the different area of the grounds that we had visited. At the end of the day we performed together, following the musical journey we had created and then we listened to Matheus and James as they shared a musical meeting using guitar and voice. It was a magical day!
