Another fun-filled day at the Hazelhut meant getting homework out of the way...
.... then we made biscuits
and composed tunes.
The wind picked up, so we did crazy science in the gym. 3 different experiments based on heat and fire!
1. The floating teabag
2. The flaming hand
3. The popping can
During the dry spells there was a chance to play at spy games....
Everyone enjoyed the sweet and savoury pancake lunch!
In the afternoon we made toy donuts to take home.
There was just enough time to bag up the biscuits, play happy families and have a game of charades before everyone left. Thanks for coming! Come back soon!
How wonderful to open our doors again to some great kids!
The sun shone on us for most of the day,
so we played outside,
collected the eggs,
participated in an archery contest
and even ate lunch outside! Although we had to run indoors to escape a showering! After lunch more Hazelhutters joined and we had a much anticipated treasure hunt.
First the rules needed to be explained and walkie talkies tried out,
Then the clues had to be found....
before the treasure could be enjoyed!
Later we did some indoor activities like making stress balls.
After the day-children went home, the remaining kids had so much fun making their own cotolette, we were afraid that they would be laughing too much to eat them!
But we needn't have worried - dinner was delicious especially with the addition of chocolate and orange cake - thank you Alessia!!!!
