What a lot of Hazelhutters for our first weekend in what feels like ages!!! And we couldn't have hoped for a lovelier crowd to do so many fun things with. First of all we had to introduce them to our new rabbits and the new hens. Smokey and Fluffy were such a big hit that the children hardly seemed interested in the hens..... There was plenty of time to enjoy the new tennis and football pitch, which is much loved by everyone. As usual the children loved rummaging through the art materials to make a very special egg for the best egg competition. James and Ottavia could hardly decide who the winners should be as they were ALL exceptional! We had a delicious lunch of pasta and salad in the delightful sunshine. After lunch these good little Hazelhutters did their homework. Then fresh air and beautiful scenery was on the menu for everyone as we headed into the woods for a walk. We were hoping to find some elderflowers, but the cold weather had stopped them from coming out..... On returning some of the children helped us make up our summer vases while others enjoyed yet more sports on the pitch. Other children helped plant new seeds in the veg patch so that our summer campers can enjoy fresh organic veg! In the afternoon we had some fun doing karaoke! Then we ordered pizza and played games waiting for it to arrive.... ....but it was definitely worth the wait!
