On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week we were working with the kids from ISC Grade 6, helping them to understand the ancient Romans and preparing them for the exhibition. We loved having this energetic and thoughtful group of students and just wish the time could have been longer. The first day was spent in Rome looking at the ancient monuments with James as tour guide. They also went to the ancient Roman baths near Viterbo to experience the relaxing side of ancient Roman life! The rest of the time was spent at the Hazelhut. The students responded well to our open spaces and seemed to really understand how we need to consider many of the concepts connected with their transdisciplinary theme of 'Sharing the Planet' when we work at the Hazelhut. They learned about the many things we do to maintain a balance within our fragile ecosystem and they loved running wild in the woods and on the football pitch! Hazelhut meals were also a big hit with this team. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the Grade 6 students every success with their exhibition and to thank their teachers for all their help in making this trip a wonderful experience for everyone.
