It was wonderful to welcome back the prep class from St. Thomas's for a trip about building and materials. They all braved the high winds and strong rain to come to the Hazelhut. We loved seeing them all one year on and could tell from the first game that they hadn't forgotten how to have fun! The students showed some great thinking and inquiry skills when looking at the materials used to rebuild the Hazelhut. Outside they listened to our builder, Remo, when he explained how all of the materials were used and what properties they have. The students loved exploring the building materials outdoors and they especially enjoyed the chance to run around the garden! They showed some lovely manners at the table during snack and lunch time, and they were VERY creative in the art room. Later when they were using tools, they showed courage and took care not to hurt themselves. What a great day we had with these hard-working, fun-loving students; come back soon!
