We were so happy to welcome back the students of St. Dominic's school to share a very British festival with them. Last Sunday was Bonfire Night in the UK - a time when we remember the attempt of Guy Fawkes and his men to blow up the house of Lords and kill the king! Our first activity was to create small figurines of this historical character by following English instructions - as you can see, the students did this very well! Then we involved the children in a dramatic retelling of the story. Of course bonfire day needs a bonfire, so we headed off to get some wood and to start the fire. Once it was up and running, the fire was a great heater for us to enjoy our lunch by. Then, just when we least needed it, the sun came out for our firework display! We want to thank the teachers and students from St. Dominic's for their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to have a go. We hope to see you all again soon!
