We hit our maximum intake today as 9 more children joined for the day! With such big numbers, we decided to split the group into 2 lots of ten - one of which painted stones..... The other group went to the art room and made a bag to last a lifetime. James also couldn't resist getting back to his sports teaching roots and doing some group games with all 20! All twenty children made their own sandwiches for lunch, which we very much enjoyed in the garden. After lunch the younger children read a book with Ottavia in the cool and calm of the sitting room. Then most of the children went for a swim. Some others helped make a passata from all the tomatoes spilling out of the veg patch. Later the boys made ice cream and the girls went off to feed the pigs and see if any of the blackberries were ready. The pigs were very happy to see us, but there are at least 2 weeks to go before our berries turn black! Once the day children had left, the girls gravitated back to making chickens in the art room and the boys went to the football pitch! What a busy day!
